Venezuelan Immigrants Vanish After ICE Deportations

Families search for answers as deportees disappear from tracking systems
Two Venezuelan immigrants who were detained and deported by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) have disappeared without a trace, according to their families. Neiyerver Adrian Leon Rengel, 27, and Ricardo Prada Vasquez, 32, were both in the United States legally awaiting immigration proceedings when they were detained in March. After their deportation, both men vanished from tracking systems and have not been located by their families in Venezuela.
The families suspect the men were on one of three deportation flights to El Salvador on March 15, possibly to a maximum-security prison in San Salvador. Neither man had any history of gang involvement, with Leon Rengel having only a single fine for marijuana possession in Texas and Prada Vasquez having no criminal record in the U.S. Their cases have raised concerns about deportation procedures and tracking systems for those removed from the country.
